They come with living on a fallen earth with fallen humanity. Peace would be a rare commodity if we had to depend on our circumstances as our only source for that peace. We have a far better source for peace....and for courage. In fact, it's the only true source - Jesus.When Jesus and his disciples were crossing the lake a huge storm welled up. Jesus slept, stretched out at the end of the boat. His disciples however were so worried they thought they were going to die. Maybe today you are in the middle of circumstances that have robbed you of your peace and/or your courage. Know that in the middle of the worst storm in your life that Jesus is right there with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. Just as He was with the disciples and nothing happened to them, so He is with you.With love & blessings, Sandra

So what happened?His marvellous accomplishments left him bitter because he pursued them as a means to personal satisfaction. Personal satisfaction, by itself, is empty because we are alone in the enjoyment we receive. What is our attitude about what we do? If our goals are to satisfy only ourselves, we will find ourselves empty, seeking one thing after another as Solomon did. If our goal is to serve God and others, then we will experience a full life, one that won't leave us bitter.I am so grateful for our church family as I observe the hours that so many put in, serving God so faithfully. To this end also, thank you to so many of you that contributed to making Kat and Brent’s wedding a day not only they but many of us will always remember.With love & blessings, Sandra

Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.We all want to hear God's voice and I often get asked "but how do I know if it's God's voice or just thoughts in my head?"I think the answer to this question is often the same answer to many of the questions we have.......in order to know God's voice we have to know God. How do we get to know God? Of course we know the answer......by reading the Bible, by spending time with God and by asking God to reveal Himself to us. The more time we spend doing these things the better we will get to know Him and the more often and easier it will be for us to hear God's voice.The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy so if the voice I hear is accusatory or negative I will discern that it is not God I'm hearing. I also know it's very hard to hear God's voice amidst all the 'noise' going on in and around my life. So finding a quiet place for a quiet time is essential for me.....it's not to say that God can't or won't talk to me through the noise, but He does need to raise His voice! I also believe this is something we have to practice and that it is a journey as with a lot of our Christian walk. So I encourage you if you don't already, find a time and find a place and begin or continue to learn to hear God's voice. It really is very exciting!With love & blessings, Sandra

Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.Many of the early Christians were suffering and being abused and persecuted for believing in and obeying Jesus. Today, although not so much in the West....yet...it is much the same. Peter outlined the right attitude we are to have during times of suffering and persecution - we should expect it and we should be thankful for the privilege of suffering for Christ but also trust God for deliverance through and from it.We hear overseas of the incredible physical persecution - even to death - that is going on. As we are brothers and sisters of these dear Christian believers we are to stand with them and pray with them and for them. Following Christ can be a costly commitment - trials will come to refine our faith and when they do we must remain faithful to God as we are instructed to rejoice that we have been counted worthy to suffer as Jesus did for each one of us. Knowing this is one thing - applying it in our lives is another! But through prayer and a deepening relationship with Jesus who promises never to leave us or forsake us we too can hold on to the eternal hope He has given us.With love & blessings, Sandra
