It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.This week we have farewelled and celebrated the life of our dear Jack - "a physically small but giant man of faith". The number of people that turned up to celebrate Jack's life was testimony in itself to the character of his life. Some of the words used at his funeral that I remember were "humble, quiet, determined, a gentleman, genuine, loving, loyal, independent and funny". Jack served the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul and with all his mind up until the day he went to be with Jesus. He was a wonderful example for each of us of a man who trusted God and was filled with and guided by the Holy Spirit.We will miss his offering prayers - "well Lord, here we are at Beckenham....!" We will miss his accounting. We will miss his prayers. We will miss his friendship. We will miss his sense of humour. We will miss him.But oh the hope we have that as Christians we will also one day go to be with Jesus and we will be reunited with Jack once again.With love & blessings, Sandra

A man fully human and yet fully divine. A man without sin who freely gave up His life and became sin for our salvation. A man who is our Saviour and yet wants us to be His friend. A man who only requires our trust in order for us to inherit all the riches that He has won for us. Who is there like Jesus Christ?Once we were dead in our sin but now we have been made alive in Jesus Christ. His Spirit lives within us. We are free!What is our response to this wonderful news - the Good News of Jesus Christ!? Let us start each day with praising Him for who He is and what He has done for each one of us. There is no one like Jesus Christ, Hallelujah!!We also rejoice today that our dear Jack has gone to be with Jesus and is re-united with his dear wife Joan. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.I want to thank you and honour you, our church family here at Beckenham for the part you played in the recent mission to under privileged children here in Christchurch through the Kid's Explosion Te Mapua camp. Of course the team on the ground at camp had an extremely challenging week but the stories we are continuing to hear are so encouraging. From one of the team - "it was probably the toughest week of my life.......but the most rewarding".Many children on camp not only received love, food, respect, and encouragement but of course the good news of Jesus Christ for the very first time. There were many battles along the way throughout the preparation leading up to camp and during camp but your prayers were pivotal in making sure the enemy was defeated and that Jesus was glorified in all that was said and done.The cabin kits we were able to put together for the leaders from everything that was donated were incredible and the kids were able to use and take these home with them. So again, thank you so much for the part you have played and for being such a Kingdom minded, encouraging and praying church.With love & blessings, Sandra

All the time, God is good". It's easy to say and easy to remember, but not always that easy to feel at times. It's important to remind yourself that no matter what you've done and no matter what comes your way God IS good and in His never ending goodness He will NEVER give up on you.God's goodness is not a prize to be won or something we can earn - it is freely given (Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinner, Christ died for us). When you feel like you are unworthy of forgiveness, or when everything around you seems lost, remember there is nothing that can separate you from His love and goodness. Even in our worst moments God sent His Son to die for us so that we might have everlasting life.So in every season, let's remember this good news: God IS good, ALL the time!With love & blessings, Sandra
