One of the most powerful things we can do in our lives to get rid of negative emotions, turmoil in our minds, and wrong attitudes is to worship and praise God. No matter what is happening in our lives, or in the lives of those around us, God is always worthy of our praise. Praising Him invites His presence to reign in our midst and transformation is found in the presence of God. 

It is essential we remember all the good things God has done in our lives and to remind our families and others around us when we can of those things as well - it is part of our testimony and gives glory to God. It will also help and encourage others to dwell on the goodness of God. In the book of Esther it is said that the Jews decided that they would regularly remember and celebrate how they defeated their enemies, "that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family....and that the memory of them should not perish among their descendants". Therefore, let us be daily giving thanks and telling others of this.

So much is said about wisdom in the Bible that it is obvious we were not meant to live without it. True wisdom comes only from God. It is not just information. We have more information than most of us really need and at times it can be overwhelming. What we need is more wisdom to handle the information we have.

Wisdom that is poured out by the Holy Spirit goes far beyond education and knowledge. It is a deep sense of the truth. We don’t want to be people who are “always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Tim 3:7). We want Godly wisdom so we can make decisions quickly when we have to and know that those decisions will be the right ones. We want to be able to take the information we have and use it for good so that it bears fruit. The Bible says that “if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5) Do you need to ask that today?

Until the time of Jesus' death and resurrection, a complicated system of sacrifices had atoned for sins. Sin separates people from God, and only through the sacrifice of an animal, a substitute, could people be forgiven and become clean before God. Because people sin continually, frequent sacrifices were required. 

Jesus, however, became the final and ultimate sacrifice for sin. The word "finished" is the same as "paid in full." Jesus came to finish God's work of salvation, to pay the full penalty for our sins. With His death, the complex sacrificial system ended because Jesus took all sin upon Himself. Now we can freely approach God because of what Jesus did for us. We who believe in Jesus' death and resurrection can live eternally with God and escape the penalty that comes from sin. Hallelujah - HE IS RISEN!!!

Having a repentant heart is one of the most important factors in our relationship with Jesus. A repentant heart says, "Show me my sins Lord and I will repent of them. Lead me in Your ways. I will not rebelliously cling to my way of doing things if it is against Your ways."

Having a repentant heart doesn't mean we have necessarily done something terrible, although it can mean that. What it means is that we are willing to let God show us if we have not done things His way. It means we are open to seeing our own errors instead of self-righteously thinking we are so good that we never need to repent of anything. A repentant heart is a key in all of our relationships, and if we ask God for one, as David did, he will give it to anyone who seeks to have it.
