How might we reflect the mercy and love of God during such a time of national and global crisis? These are extraordinary times. My prayer is that our response will be marked by deep trust in God and loving care for those who are most vulnerable to infection. If you start to feel anxious can I encourage you to read Psalm 121. May it bring you peace and hope as you trust in God, the One who is sovereign and close and compassionate.I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip - He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.This week at God's Warriors we looked at the story in the book of Numbers when the spies were sent into the Promised Land to check out what they would find when they went there. Upon their return they reported much that was good, however they also reported that the people there were like giants and that they were too afraid to go. Even though God had promised them this land they didn't trust Him and saw many problems ahead.How often does this story apply to our own lives? Sometimes, even though we know we should be heading in a certain direction or doing a certain thing, all we can see are the problems. We need to remember that God is trustworthy and true to His promises ALL the time, even if we can't see it with our own eyes. God always wants His best for us - it might not be what we want but God is sovereign and His plans and purposes for us are more than we could ever dream or hope for.So next time you feel overwhelmed by your problems remember to look up, to trust Him and believe in what He is calling you into. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.We can’t be saved by keeping the Old Testament law as some people still believe to this day. As Nic told us, the law serves as a guide to point out our need to be forgiven. Christ fulfilled the obligations of the law for us. He alone can save us and make us right with God. We must never add to or change this truth. We are saved by faith, not by the good we do. Jesus alone forgives us and brings us into a relationship with God.We are free in Christ and yet freedom is a privilege. We are not free to disobey Christ or practice immorality, but we are free to serve Jesus. Let us use our freedom to love and to serve, not to make wrong choices.When the Holy Spirit leads us, He produces His fruit in us. Just as we are saved by faith, not works, we also grow by faith. By believing, we can have the Holy Spirit within us, helping us live for Christ. We obey Christ by following the Holy Spirit’s leading. Through prayer, we can ask for the Holy Spirit’s leading at any and all the time. What a marvellous way to walk in each day, not trusting in our own strength, might or power but in the Spirit of God!With love & blessings, Sandra

It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.There are many examples in the Bible of men and women who faced opposition and persecution but who carried out their ministry without fear or shame. Many of these people boldly used the gifts of preaching and teaching that the Holy Spirit had given them. The Holy Spirit helps us to be wise and to be strong. God honours our confident testimony even when we suffer. I don't know about you but I can find myself easily fearing what people might say or do if I state clearly what I believe in. I found myself in that very situation this week when someone asked me about my theology after telling me theirs had turned from black and white to many areas of grey. Although I feared what I said might strain the relationship I had to say that my theology was quite black and white and based on the Bible full stop!If you find yourself in a situation where you need to speak up or boldly take a stand can I encourage you to look only to God and to not fear what people think. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.With love & blessings, Sandra
