Jesus came to deliver us from our sin, to comfort us, to strengthen us and to call us to go into the world through word, sign and deed. The gospel is great news for all and bears witness that we live in a Kingdom, that we belong to the King and that we have faith, hope and love every minute of the day.Be encouraged that wherever it is that God has called you to lift up the name of Jesus that He is with you. That might be at work, with your family, with your neighbours, at school, in one of the ministries here at BBC or in a para– church ministry. God is using you! He created you for His good purpose. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.Psalm 100 tells us we are to enter His presence with thanksgiving and praise. What does it mean to live a grateful life?Gratitude is our greatest weapon against feeling entitled and against complacency. Gratitude redirects our attention from our lack to God’s provision and blessings. How do we cultivate a grateful heart? Apparently it takes 21 days to create a new habit. That’s 3 weeks of doing the same thing, and in the case of gratitude it is a case of changing our heart. What was the last thing you thanked God for? Are we more interested in what we haven’t got than what we have been given? What might be blocking us from cultivating gratitude in our hearts?If you want to develop and foster an attitude of gratitude let’s begin by each day thanking God for who He is and all He has given us. I encourage you if you don’t already, to simply do just this for 3 weeks and reflect on how differently you view things around you at the end. Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.At our e4 summer camp we were reminded of the importance of spiritual disciplines. I’ll be honest.....I struggle to have a regular daily time of reading my Bible. I know I should, but I don’t! I found this piece of advice particularly helpful - find a book (of the Bible), find a time and find a place. So at the start of the new year I am determined to start over and try and become more regular in this. I have found a book - Matthew (why not start at the beginning!). I have found a time - I’m a morning person so I am getting up a bit earlier to make time. I have found a place - a chair in my office with a comfy cushion and always a cup of tea. So far, it’s going fairly well. I haven’t been 100%, but we were also reminded not to beat ourselves up but to start small and work up to bigger things.I am enjoying my new routine and throughout the day can now dwell on what the main points are that the Holy Spirit has shown me as I’ve read God’s Word which is light and truth and a firm foundation for us all.With love & blessings, Sandra

Jonathan, Prince of Israel had a legacy of faithfulness. He was obedient to God at all costs, was a loyal servant and a wonderful administrator of Israel in his father’s absence. He was a trustworthy friend, an honourable son and a protective father. He willingly accepted the course God charted for him and embraced his faith with all his might. He knew without a doubt his calling and what he was and was not called to do.Throughout this year may we all discover further the course that God has for each one of us that He has planned and laid out for us from the beginning of time.
