Welcome to our service today. It’s great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.Have you noticed how, these days, there are so many distractions, so many things pulling you in this direction and that? And many of these are good, worthwhile things. Don’t get me wrong - we are called to serve Christ in whatever way He has gifted us. But one of the biggest risks that we all face in these busy days is being drawn off course. Whether it’s an overflowing email box, social media, entertainment options, work - and many other things, we can get distracted from the purpose to which God has called us.In Jeremiah 29:11 we read “For I know the plans I have for you” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”. How do we know what that ‘plan’ is that God has for our lives? In verse 12 and 13 we read “In those days when you pray I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly you will find me.” The answer is right there in front of us - Pray and search with all our heart. Our God is true to His promises. So if you feel you’re being drawn ‘off course’ today, come back to prayer and search for Him and He will show Himself to you. With love & blessings,Sandra

Welcome to our service today. It’s great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee. We are also having a shared lunch after the service today. We invite you to stay and join with us for this also if you are able. What an exciting day as we celebrate together the baptisms of Anna and Cam. If you are here as friends and family of these two we warmly welcome you and invite you to just relax and enjoy the service and this celebration.Today we will hear the testimony (or story) of both of these young people’s journey to this point in their faith. Although they do this individually it is a group effort in a way! Years of faithful prayer from family, friends and now their church family have brought them to this point. We give thanks and praise to God for bringing them this far as they make this public declaration. We stand with them today and continue to pray for them as they grow in their relationship with Jesus. That is what family does. We support one another, we pray for one another, we teach one another, we learn together and we love one another. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. And today we rejoice together .With love & blessings,Sandra

Welcome to our service today. It’s great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee. If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.One writer said a man can live forty days without food, three days without water, eight minutes without air, but only one second without hope. Does that mean we die when all hope is gone? In extreme cases, sadly it can. Hope sustains life and once a person loses hope, they can quickly perish . We live by hope and when it’s gone, endurance, joy, energy and courage just seem to evaporate. Sometimes when people lose all hope, they continue to exist; but we’d be hard-pressed to call it living. They’re really just surviving. People cannot live without hope; it is one of the most powerful forces of life. With God in our lives we can have hope of a bright future, both in this life and the life to come. Our God of Hope pours His hope into our lives; all the hope we’ll ever need. God is ready to fill us with the Holy Spirit of hope, and the more we have of Him in our lives, the more hope we will have. So seek Him today with all of your heart, soul and mind and discover the hope He is for your life. With love & blessings,Sandra

Welcome to our service today. It’s great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee. If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.“Rest is a weapon given to us by God. The enemy hates it because he wants you stressed and occupied.” This is from a book I was reading this week. I’d never considered rest as a weapon! But how important it is! In Psalm 23 we read “He let’s me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.” It’s OK to rest! He says in His Word that He will let us. In fact He instructed us to have a Sabbath day in order to rest - following His example that we read in Genesis “on the seventh day God had finished His work of creation, so He rested”.What does rest look like for you? For me it’s a combination of things including sleep, sitting still, reading, listening to worship music, pottering in the kitchen (because I want to!) watching my children play football and a few other things. But I don’t always get the balance of ‘busyness’ and ‘rest’ in the right proportion. However I don’t want to give the enemy a foothold so I know it’s important to keep working at rest. Isn’t that ironical?! Let me encourage you in all that you do that in order to keep running the race that God has given us, to make time in your week to rest.....start small if you have to ...... But start! With love & blessings,Sandra
