Sometimes friendships can be tested AND strengthened by hardships. I am reminded of the 4 friends Jill spoke about a few weeks ago - Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who help us think about the real meaning of friendship. As much as these friends meant to each other, they never allowed their friendship to usurp God’s place in their lives—not even in the face of death.When we leave God out of our most important relationships, we tend to expect those relationships to meet needs in us that only God can meet. Friends are great and necessary in our lives but they cannot meet our deepest spiritual needs. First and foremost before any other relationship is the relationship we have with God. Today I was listening to a song that had the words "Let them see You in me". Immediately I thought of the scripture in John 13:35 that says "By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another"As followers of Jesus we are called to be the light in this world. We are told to 'shine' our lights. What does this look like? Yes it is in our actions, but it is also in our words. It is also in what we don't say and what we don't do. We can easily be tempted and distracted by so many things in this world but we need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. He is love. He showed love in so many ways. Ultimately He showed the greatest love of all when He was nailed to the cross for our sin. To know God is to know Jesus and to be like Him so He shines from through us.My prayer today and maybe yours too, is "Let them see You in me".With love & blessings,Sandra

Most of us have probably researched the meaning of our name and even asked our parents why they gave us our particular name. Often the names we are given shape who we are. Is it possible that had we been given a different name our personality or character would be different? No matter what our name is, it is nice to have people know us and call us by our name.Jesus loves to hear us call His name. And more importantly than the names we have been given at birth by our parents, are the names given to us by our Heavenly Father which shape who we are for all eternity. He calls us Child, Friend, Blessed, Loved, Redeemed and Free. We are His precious Son’s and Daughter’s. Let’s remember who He has called us.With love & blessings,Sandra

It’s great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.I have been listening to a new song this week which has the words “Who the Son sets free, is free indeed”. What a powerful statement. God loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross for us. In doing so, Jesus took the weight of our sin and shame upon Himself so that we may not live under it ourselves but be set FREE!! This blows my mind.To live in this place of freedom brings light in the darkness, strength to the weak, and peace to the troubled. We don’t have to live under condemnation for “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”. How often do we forget this?To be set free means we don’t have to be bound by addictions or negative feelings and thoughts. Many of us suffer from these from time to time. So let’s bring those things to the foot of the cross, repent and ask for God’s forgiveness so we can live our lives truly set free as Christ intended.With love & blessings,Sandra
