If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.Have you heard the saying "Hate the sin, but love the sinner.” No one did either like Jesus. Truth hates sin. Grace loves sinners. Those full of grace and truth—those full of Jesus—do both.Attempts to water down or “soften” the gospel by minimizing truth keep people from Jesus. Attempts to “toughen” the gospel by minimizing grace keep people from Jesus. It’s not enough for us to offer grace or truth. We must offer both.When we offend everybody, we’ve declared truth without grace. When we offend nobody, we’ve watered down truth in the name of grace. John 1:14 tells us Jesus came full of grace AND truth. Let’s not choose between them, but be characterised by both.With love & blessings,Sandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.In Genesis we read that God tested Abraham when he asked him to sacrifice his son Isaac. We then read that early the next morning Abraham got up to go and do just that. I can imagine he didn't get much sleep that night! Abraham would have been wrestling with the thought of giving up his son or if not, being disobedient to God. What a choice he had to make. God may not call us to make such difficult decisions - although he may, and it might certainly feel like that at times. When He does what do or will we choose? He calls us to sacrifice everything we have and when something stands in the way of us and God He will test us. But the outcome of being obedient and doing what He asks us to do is better than we could ever ask for - it was in that place that God promised Abraham He would provide for him. Abraham didn't have to go through with the sacrifice but God wanted to see if he was willing in his heart. Are there things that God is asking us to sacrifice in order that nothing stands between us and God? If there are then let's not waste time in doing so in order that God may have us right where He wants us!With love & blessings,Sandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.I have a painted stone sitting in my office at home that says 'God is only a prayer away'. It's a reminder to me that I don't have to make an appointment with God. I don't need to book in or to wait for my turn. He is always available. In fact He is waiting for us to speak with Him 24/7....... so He can speak with us. How often is God my last port of call rather than my first? I'm often a slow learner - I text a friend or talk to someone about a problem rather than going directly to the One who knows all, sees all and will give me the answer that He needs me to hear. I am reminded of the great hymn "What a Friend we have in Jesus" with the words 'We should never be discouraged, take it to the Lord in prayer'. Sometimes it's the easiest and simplest things that are the hardest to learn!I look forward to seeing many of you tonight at Worship For His Sake, 7pm in the church.With love & blessings, Sandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.God can make us comfortable in some of life’s most uncomfortable places. He can bring us through situations we think we won’t survive, or feel like we’ll be stuck in forever. He can give us peace when we’re under pressure.All of us will experience loss in our lives. Losing things can actually help us to appreciate what we do have. And failure can make our successes even better. We don't’ know what tomorrow holds, but we do know that God is with us in all our ‘tomorrows’. And just because we don’t understand the path we’re on , doesn’t mean HE isn’t leading us. He promises: I will lead the blind on unfamiliar roads. I will lead them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light in front of them. I will make rough places smooth... I will never abandon them (Isaiah 42:16) Times and seasons change, but God doesn’t. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.With love & blessings, Sandra
