If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.As I walked the hill in the glorious sunshine today I listened to a song with the words 'the same power that rose Jesus from the grave, the same power that commands the dead to wake, lives in us, lives in us. Wow! What an inspiration in those words.We read in the bible 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' and when Jesus spoke 'Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy....nothing will injure you' We are on the winning side. We have the victory! What dreams has God given you that haven't yet been fulfilled in your life? Hold onto them, chase them, persevere......God is in you in His Holy Spirit and will work through you as you walk with Him. Don't stop. If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.As I write this the hail is beating down on our deck and the city is covered in grey cloud with wind and rain dousing it. Someone said to me this morning 'I don't like winter'. Many of you probably don't either. It signals the end of long, light filled, warm days bringing shorter, darker and colder ones. But like many things in life it is just a 'season'. It will pass.In the different seasons of the year we do different things (often weather dependent!) and in the 'seasons' of life we also do different things - and learn different things. In some seasons of life we struggle with what is going on but can learn so much and in other seasons of life we seem to breeze through them enjoying every moment. Some seasons seem to last a lot longer than others while others are just fleeting. But the truth is that in every 'season' of our lives God is constant. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) So whatever season you find yourself in at the moment, remember God is with you and that He will never leave you or forsake you. If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.I've discovered that one of the shortest and simplest prayers I have ever prayed has also been one of the most powerful prayers I have ever prayed! It is simply 'Here I am Lord - please use me'. It can also be a very scary prayer. We imagine if we pray this prayer that God will send us to the darkest most farthest ends of the earth! We say to ourselves things like 'Why would He use me?', 'I'm not qualified for that', 'I'm not good enough, smart enough, holy enough, bold enough'...... and the list goes on. We think we need to be an Isaiah or an Abraham or an Esther or a David. But I've learned that God just wants us - the people He has created - to have open hearts and a willing attitude - He is more than able to use us then when we say 'Here am I Lord - please use me'.With love & blessings, Sandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.I don't know about you but for me Easter brings up a range of emotions. They include awe, quiet reflection, gratefulness, repentance, amazingness (is that a word?!) and just wanting to shout Hallelujah! What are they for you?That God would allow His only Son to suffer such a painful death is hard to take in. Yet He did.....for you and me. Why - because He loves us. I can't imagine a clearer definition of love. And of course it doesn't end there. Three days later Jesus rose again. He conquered death and won the victory. And in Him so do we. As we heard last weekend life on this earth is so short but when we walk with Jesus life after our physical death is eternal when we will go to live with Him forever. What a message we have to share.May this Easter once again be a time of grateful reflection and wonderful celebration wherever you are.
