If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.Being amongst a family who all play a musical instrument there is always much ‘tuning’ taking place before the actual playing begins. If we are practicing together then only once we are tuned can we make a ‘joyful’ noise! Sometimes with wind instruments it can take a bit of playing before the instrument can be fully tuned. And harmonies only sound good if everyone is in tune!Our lives need to be constantly tuned – tuned to the voice of the Holy Spirit. If we let Him, God is constantly transforming our lives, reshaping us to conform to His perfect will – to His perfect pitch. We will never ‘make it’ but God isn’t looking for us to be perfect for there was only ever One who was perfect – Jesus Christ. But as we respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting in our lives we will become more in tune with Him and with one another.May we individually and corporately be people who love God with everything we have and walk in tune with His Holy Spirit day by day.With love and blessings, Sandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.I love the scripture in Luke 12 where Jesus tells us that God knows the number of hairs on our head - easier for Him to know that for some than others!! But in reading this scripture I understand how much He values us. He then goes on to say not one sparrow is forgotten by God and that we are worth more than many sparrows. Many of Jesus’ listeners were poor and worn down and felt forgotten and worthless. Maybe you feel like that today? But remember - in God’s eyes, you are so valuable that He sent His Son Jesus to save you. His One and Only Son!!As we begin the period of Lent leading up to Easter and remember Jesus’ suffering and death and our own unworthiness, remember that we are worth the death of God’s only Son. If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.Last week in our life group we talked about ‘landmarks’. These are places like streams, valley’s, mountain tops and the wilderness where we find ourselves going through different seasons with God. There are also ‘spiritual’ landmarks - places which act as anchors and refuelling points on our spiritual journey. These may be physical places or times when we can remember that we met God in a particular way that was different to our everyday walk with God. So what are your spiritual landmarks? It is not necessarily the place or the name of it that is important, but what Jesus does for us there. When times are hard we go back to these landmarks and do what Israel did - worship, reconsecrate in fresh surrender and reflect with gratitude about what the Lord did for us there. What the Lord did for Israel, He will do for us also - reassure us of His love, reaffirm His covenant promises and refresh us again with His life-giving presence.With love and blessings, Sandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.As I write this it is one of those serene evenings when the sun is going down behind the mountains and the much appreciated cool of the night air is drifting in the open doors. The crickets are chirping and the birds are still singing in the trees. Surprisingly, all is quiet in our house! And I just have an overwhelming sense of gratefulness to God for all He has done for me. For who He is. For what He has given me. For the promises I have just read sitting in the bible next to me. For how close He is to me. And I am reminded again to simply come and praise God and give Him thanks for everything. We were reminded of this last year on a number of occasions and it is good to be reminded again of how giving thanks in all circumstances - yes all! - can change our circumstances in a moment.As this year begins can I encourage us all to remember to 'rejoice always, pray continually and to give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for us in Christ Jesus.'With love and blessings, Sandra
