I trust it has been a mostly restful and relaxing one for everyone.I find January a good month to ponder many things! And to read a good book or two. As mentioned in the January cover I like to take time on New Years Day to chat with God about what He might be saying to me for the year ahead - this year it was quite clear and simple - "Glorify My Name in all the earth". As well as this the phrase “put your hand in My Hand” has been coming across my path in different ways on a number of occasions. Who knows what the year ahead will look like but I can be fairly sure it will comprise of ups, downs, challenges, trials, tears and laughter! God may be calling us this year to step out into unexplored territory. There may be risk. But if we put our hand in His Hand and step out in faith, the limits of what might be achieved are unbounded. If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.Today, as well as our 10am service we will be having our Christmas Eve service - ‘Worship at the Manger’ at 7pm. This service is a special celebration that tells of how the first Christmas came to be. Following this, supper will be served and we warmly invite you to stay for this. For those of you who would like to join with us we will also be attending the first service in the newly built Oxford Terrace Baptist church commencing at 11:15pm tonight.Tony and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your love and support, prayer and service during 2017. We are excited for next year and what God will say to us and where He will lead us. We feel incredibly privileged to be journeying together here at BBC with you as part of our church family. If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.During the Christmas season, we, as Christians, continue the tradition of the angels to announce and proclaim the Good News to all people: Jesus – the Messiah – has come into the world to save the souls of all! This is the JOY that transcends seasons. We rejoice! Troubles come and troubles go and our peace can be easily rattled at this time of year. But this Christmas, can I encourage you, in spite of all that is going on in our lives and the world we live in, to keep the peace of our Lord in our hearts. John 16:33, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.
