If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.In the gospels we read of the greatest commandment to ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind’. What does is mean to love God with all of our mind?I read a quote this week that said ‘A mind expanded never returns to it’s original size’. I am not an academic. However I do know how important it is for me to read the Bible - every day, and to not just read it, but to meditate on it, study it, memorise some of it and to grow in my understanding of what was written hundreds of years ago, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The more I do this the more I will understand Jesus and the more my relationship with Him will grow.In our life group we are currently studying the book of Acts. This has been inspiring and it has been good to study it together and discuss what it is saying to us. Can I encourage you that if you aren’t currently in a life group to consider joining one, or maybe even starting one! If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.It was so encouraging to hear the testimony last week of Kate's healing from sciatica. When I think back over the past 8 years in our time here at BBC I can recount numerous healings that have taken place including some of my own! Often when we pray for many but only see the occasional one we can lose heart - does God really heal? But when we look back over the years they add up. Of course there are many questions that go along with the whole area of healing - why them? why not me? when? do I need more faith? am I not good enough?. We will never know the answers to some of these questions but one thing we can be assured of is that Our God DOES heal.As believers we are called to pray for those who need healing as the disciples did, 'going from village to village proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere'. We have been given all power and authority to pray for the sick in Jesus name, so let us stay close to the Holy Spirit and be bold and pray for those who He leads us to.With love & blessings, Sandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.I often think about life and how many 'choices' we can, and do or don't make on any given day. Much of life is about choice. We choose what we will wear, what we will eat and what activities we will carry out in a day. We can also choose how we feel rather than be dictated to by our circumstances - we can choose to be 'glass half full' or 'glass half empty' people. We can choose to be givers or takers. We can choose to be served or to be servants. And of course we can choose life - not just life in the air we breathe but life in all of it's abundance.In Deuteronomy 30:19 we read 'This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live'.This is the most important choice we can make. Have you made that choice today?With love & blessings, Sandra
