This is particularly true when we are insecure in our relationships. In Galatians 1:10 Paul writes “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God” Or am I trying to please people?” Notice that he asks twice “Who am I trying to please?’Sometimes we try to please our employer, our colleagues, our friends, our family and many others because we want to look good. To be concerned about anything more than God is to replace God with an idol. And it does nothing for our relationship with these people because people-pleasing simply can’t ease insecurity.We need to be in the business of pleasing God, and the only way to do that is to place our security in Him alone. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.This week we were blessed to have the privilege of Raewyn Churnside sharing with us of the life she leads in China at our Women's Night. She was inspiring!At one point in the evening Raewyn talked about how she often refers to 3 questions when talking with people - Who am I? What am I here for? and What will happen to me when I die? These questions have really struck me and I believe it's important that everyone (whether a follower of Jesus or not) can answer them.Who am I? - I am a precious child of God who loves me more than I can ever imagine. I was created by Him and am uniquely made in His image.What am I here for? - He created me for a purpose - He has a plan for my life that will prosper me and not harm me and that gives me a hope and a future.What will happen to me when I die? - I will pass from this life to the next where I will meet Jesus face to face and live in Heaven where He has prepared a place for me. I will be reunited with those who have gone before me that also believe in HIm. I will have a new body that works perfectly!Well those are simply my answers - can I encourage you to ponder these questions and answer them for yourself. If you're not sure of what they might be for you do get in touch with me so we can talk about it further. We're not always in control of what happens to us, but we're always in control of how we respond. Our attitude is something that we can control almost 100% of the time - if we choose to.In Galatians 5 we read about the fruit of the Spirit. By asking God to help us develop ALL of these in our lives it changes us from the inside out. I personally have found it makes a huge difference to how I respond in different situations. I know that without the fruit of the Spirit operating in my life I would certainly choose to respond differently and my attitude would be a lot worse in many situations.This will be the case for the rest of our time on this earth - we will never be fully developed in this area but let's not waste time. As we get up everyday let's ask God to work in us, to grow us in Him and to have a right attitude as we go about our day.With love & blessings, Sandra

We can always find people who are worse off than us. However, the best way is to see our problems in the perspective of God’s immense love, mercy and grace. When we take our problems to God we have a much clearer perspective on them and also an avenue to resolving them. Human nature tends to dictate that our initial reaction to our problems is to stress, be anxious, fear, talk to others, get upset....and so the list goes on!In Matthew 28 we read that God wants us to come to Him, to give Him our problems and our burdens. Nothing is too big for Him. He can handle it - and He also promises that He won’t give us anything that we can’t handle in His strength. So if you don’t already, let’s begin to make God the first place we go when we have a problem and learn to totally surrender it to Him.With love & blessings,Sandra
