This is what Christmas is all about. God became man! He loves us so much that He left Heaven to make a way for us to enter heaven and spend eternity with Him. That is why one of Jesus names is Immanuel - God with us. The Son of God was sent to reveal His Father's thoughts and heart to the world......and to save us.As we move through the advent season toward Christmas Day, remember that Immanuel, our precious Jesus, the eternal Word, our King and our Saviour, came to earth so we could know God deeply and experience His presence intimately, and so we would be saved.With love & blessings,Sandra

It can sound like 'losing' and no one wants to feel like a loser. No wonder it's hard to surrender to God. Our human instinct tells us that surrendering to Him may not work out for us. But the Bible tells us that surrendering to Jesus is what is in our best interest.Following Jesus wholeheartedly requires submission to Him. We can't follow our own agenda and at the same time follow Him. Trying to do both just doesn't work. We don't know where God will lead us, but we do know that He is good and trustworthy. He created us for good works which He already has prepared for us.If you haven't already, now is the time to give Him the reins to guide your life to the very best place, beyond what you can even imagine for yourself. But gifts and talents alone are empty without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we feel the pressure to make something happen in our own strength, but there is another way! Instead of striving we have an invitation to partner with the Holy Spirit to pour out His anointing on an impossible situation.There is a peace that comes when we invite Jesus to do what only He can do. In fact this is what Jesus was anointed to do, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor....”Jesus breaks the chains and sets the captive free. In the same way Jesus was anointed, we have received the Holy Spirit to release life, healing and deliverance to those who need it. It’s great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.As I write this I have just returned from going out for coffee with my Dad. It reminded me of this coffee illustration -Imagine this - You are holding a cup of coffee when someone bumps into you, making you spill your cup of coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. The point is, whatever is inside the cup, is what will spill out. Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which it will!) whatever is inside us will come out. So we have to ask ourselves the question "What's in my cup?". When life gets tough, what spills out? Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility? Or does anger, bitterness, harsh words or other reactions come out? We choose!Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, kindness, gentleness and love for others.
