If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.In Joshua 3:10 we read ‘and this is how you shall know that the Living God is among you’. Sound familiar? If you have spent time in the large hall at Glenroy Lodge where we gather together for our camp each year, you may remember that this is the verse above the fireplace. I love that the word LIVING has been included. The writer of Joshua could just have said ‘God’ but no – he wrote LIVING God. God is not dead! He is alive and lives in us through His Holy Spirit. We know He is our Living God by looking around us – seeing the extravagant beauty in creation, reading about the intricate workings of our incredibly designed bodies, observing the miracle of a new born baby, seeing and hearing testimonies of healings and changed lives and in so many other ways. We are not blind to these things but sadly many are. Let us together and in unity declare aloud that the LIVING (and loving!) GOD is amongst us so that others may come to know Him like we have.Love & blessingsSandra

With one in Dunedin on study placement and one in Blenheim on a school music trip there are just 4 of us rattling around at home! It has made me realise that time is moving on and I am getting older! Don’t you find that life seems to be passing by a lot more quickly than it used to?! We are called to this life for a time – our days are numbered and ordained and written in the book of life. What we do with each day is important. What we do with each day counts. God has called each of us – called us to share His love and to make a difference in this world around us. Whether it be a prayer for someone, an act of service, spending time with someone or simply a kind word, let’s be people who make a difference in the lives of those around us.Love & BlessingsSandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.Every now and then the sun breaks through and the day is a bit warmer! It gives us hope that spring is coming! Hope is a fascinating reality. Faith and hope are twins that give us confidence for the future - confidence that God’s goodness in spite of our circumstances will allow us to see His greater purpose. Hope is often centered around our will - what we hope for, we trust will come to pass. Moreover our hope should be that which God is hoping for - that God’s purpose in and through our lives will come to pass even in the midst of our trials.As a church, one of our primary messages is one of hope. Hope for the now, the future and into eternity. Jesus is our hope. Let’s keep our eyes on Him.With love & blessings,Sandra

If this is your first time at BBC we especially welcome you.I’ve been pondering ‘discipleship’ lately. A Christian disciple is a person who accepts and assists in the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ. Christian discipleship is the process by which disciples grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit, who resides in our hearts, to overcome the pressures and trials of this present life and become more and more Christ like. This process requires believers to respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to examine their thoughts, words and actions and compare them with the Word of God. This requires that we be in the Word daily - studying it, praying over it, and obeying it. In addition, we should always be ready to give testimony of the reason for the hope that is within us and to disciple others to walk in His way.
