A Christian disciple is a personwho accepts and assists in the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ.Christian discipleship is the process by which disciples grow in the LordJesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit, who resides in ourhearts, to overcome the pressures and trials of this present life andbecome more and more Christ like. This process requires believers torespond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to examine their thoughts, wordsand actions and compare them with the Word of God. This requires thatwe be in the Word daily - studying it, praying over it, and obeying it. Inaddition, we should always be ready to give testimony of the reason forthe hope that is within us and to disciple others to walk in His way. Queens Birthday

The reason for the weekend is the celebration of the birth of our queen & I was reminded that we all know that it is not the real birth date. Most of us know that Christmas was probably not the real birth-time of Jesus. However, regardless of this , we now have a Queen and a King with us now whose birthdays we celebrate.Why celebrate these birthdays? Because of what the reign of a sovereign means. The influence of the reign of a sovereign is much wider than those choose to acknowledge their sovereignty. Do we realise this as Christians? There has been sovereign work done to prepare for the coming of the King, what part might we play?Blessings,Tony

Steve Graham, Dean of Laidlaw College is speaking this morning on the topic of what has become known as the five-fold ministry as detailed in Ephesians 4. Rather than this being a one-verse theology or idea about church leadership, I have felt for some time that this encapsulates the journey and direction we are going as a church.You may well hear in the message this morning an understanding of how your or another is wired up, and why they are motivated in that way they are: perhaps a very different motivation to your own! For this reason these five gifts: Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor & Teacher are known as the motivational gifts. Do you find one or some of these motivating you?Blessings,Tony
