I’ve not preached before on the enemy that we face in our life as Christians and as the church. While looking at the parable of the sower it seemed that we need to be more aware of who this is who steals away what we are sowing, and his methods of operating.

He operates by: Deceit, Fathering lies and Opposition. Are we aware of the ways he may be working? Over the next few weeks we’ll look further at the other things that oppose and work against the seed that is sown coming to fruition.You’ll notice some changes to the newsletter over the coming weeks. Today we are looking at revival - a violent assault on the kingdom of darkness, and it starts with us!Joel 2:28 says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and your daughters will prophecy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.As we look at God's word this morning and understand his desire for the lost, let us press in and see revival in our hearts and in our community. I want to encourage us all again about Life Groups, particularly if you are new to Beckenham. It’s a great way to be integrated into the life of the church and to aid study I’ll expand the message to provide a summery for reflection.After the calling of the 12 disciples, Mark 3:20 onwards speaks of:Prevention: (3:12) Jesus is prevented by family, friends and colleagues from doing ministry that He is in great demand for by the multitudes. What might we with the best intentions prevent what Jesus is wanting to do in our midst, even though we might be close to him? Plunder: (3:27) Much talk of God’s kingdom uses strong images; Bind, Power force, Plunder. Has my view of the approach needed to see the kingdom here on earth meant that I soft pedal this strong process? Position: (3:30) The Pharisees did three things in blaspheming the Holy Sprit: Firstly they called something that was Holy, unholy. Secondly they lived with this belief. Finally they were not concerned about this warning. Has this been an issue for me? Blessings,Tony
